I admire Taylor Swift for her continued connection with and attention to her fans. She interacts with her fans better than any other artist today. On top of that, she makes good music too. I can say as a guy that her songs are infectious and catchy, especially "Shake It Off", which stands on its own as an anthem for those who are ridiculed, told they're not good enough, or just under a lot of stress.
The only problem, and this isn't Taylor's fault, is that her music is played way too much on the radio. I understand that she is a great artist, and well deserving of all the airtime she gets on the radio, but when you play these awesome songs so much, they get old fast, and eventually lose their luster. As I said though, She doesn't really have much control over that aspect, so all in all, this is yet again another gem from Taylor!

This album will get you moving and grooving one minute, and have you reflecting the next. Great album.

The #1's keep happening for Taylor Swift, albeit this time in her first crossover album...making her mark in the pop genre as opposed to Country.
The first single released, "Shake It Off" is a catchy song which really grows on you.
The styling of this song is not too dissimilar to a certain hit by Avril Lavigne. It has a great hook as well as that "Cheerleader" style middle 8.
It is a winner.
Swift continues to show her softer side with songs like "Blank Space" which is, in my opinion, the best song on the album.
Taylor Swift is one of the great songwriters in the current generation and joins Katy Perry amongst the elite in this regard.
"1989" is an album packed with typical Taylor Swift melodic lines and lyrics, but also totally fresh in its' approach and execution.
Definitely worth the time!

I personally have not been able to say I like a song by Taylor Swift since "Our song" over 5 years ago. That said, both "Blank space" and "wonderland" are great songs and I most definitely like them. Blank space is stylishly Chaotic, with a slower tempo but fast choppy vocals that are actually quite pleasing to the ear.
