For me, this is Queen at the height of its art-rock power, take them or leave them! Unapologetically exuberant, fantastically-produced (with added remaster crispness) and featuring orchestra-level song-writing sophistication, this is an album which has something for everyone.
My all time Queen favourite, I'm in Love with My Car is here, Roger Taylor's ode to all things four-wheel and a tongue-in-cheek rocker with Taylor's lead vocals sounding magnificent.
Death on Two Legs is the band's riposte to a cut-throat music business with the dangers and unpleasantness is creates for artists - listen-out for Brian May's chilling riffs and overall heaviness without the usual vocabulary of metal bands.
'39 is a gem of a song performed on an acoustic, 12-string guitar and featuring Brian May's lead vocals. The folky, forlorn feeling and soaring melody have lost none f their vibrancy over the years.
Overall a sophisticated and clever album by a band which knew exactly what they were doing.
