This album is an awesome album to listen to all the way through. The songs are great but they are better when you hear them in order which is a testament to how brilliant the tracklist is. I also like that there are quite a few lyrics in Spanish on this album which is a neat detail in the bands discography. I think this album also reminds me the most of at the drive in. It comes across to me as though it was cut from the same cloth of thought. And given that the mars volta formed out of at the drive in, it makes sense that alot of the styles and ideas from at the drive in woukd eventually show themselves in the mars voltas work.

There are some especially tasty guitar moments on this album that I really love as a guitar player. I am always inspired by the bands creativity and willingness to try new things. That alone makes this band and album stand out to me as being great.
