The Jewel in the Jethro Tull Crown.

Aqualung is nothing short of brilliance, an absolute masterpiece of 70s Prog Rock. When prog rock was huge these masters of the craft broke off from that already broken off style of music and took it to new heights with something never seen (heard?) before.

Tulls use of flute melodies accentuates most tracks of this record, unusual as it may be the resulting product is a well composed score over old school rock with topical lyrics hidden amongst simile and metaphor.

stand out tracks "aqualung" and "locomotive breath" are internationals hits surviving to day this day as precedent.
