Amazing album. Simply amazing. This is the first proper Flower Kings album, and it's a classic. Excellent playing, great songwriting, beautiful sounds, and emotional climaxes that nearly bring me to tears. From the infectious optimism and positive atmosphere of the first track (World of Adventures) to the philosophical depth and beauty of the last track (Big Puzzle), with lots of amazing stuff in between, this album is 1 hour, 11 minutes, and 28 seconds of perfection.

I usually like to single out my favorite tracks on any album, but that is tougher than usual because I absolutely love every track on this album! Nevertheless, if I have to pick one, it's Big Puzzle. The lyrics are deep and meaningful. The whole song is brilliantly structured, as well as catchy and enticing to listen to as it takes the listener on a sort of journey, both lyrically and musically. Finally, it builds to a crescendo, featuring a soaring Roine Stolt guitar solo. This is a song that never fails to give me chills, and it's the perfect song to end the perfect album.

Some insights overall: Every instrument is featured well throughout. The keyboards are beautiful, as are the guitars, and the drumming and basslines are great (audible, too!) In fact, Atomic Prince/Kaleidoscope features one of the best basslines I've ever heard. Not technically complex, but it's brilliant in composition, fat in tone, and simply rockin' as it drives the song forward. Roine Stolt does almost all the vocals on this album, and he does a great job. He has a Swedish accent that might be a bit of an acquired taste, but that distinctive voice is an asset, and gives this album an even more recognizable and enjoyable flavor.

I'd recommend this album to ANY prog fan. If you like it half as much as I did, you'll still be glad you listened to this masterpiece. If you like it more than I did... you'll probably be transported to another world, ruled by The Flower King, and filled with peace, love, and prog. Because when I listen to it, this album truly does transport me Back to the World of Adventures. There's no other way to put it. Say goodbye to the pressure... expect to fly!
