Raw and brazenly it roars from the boxes. Seldom a volume experiences which describes itself so appropriately. Singer and guitarist Michael Poulsen said sometimes during an interview that they want to bring the best from rock and Metal under a hat. So much it can be betrayed: Volbeat have made this definitive.

After the motto „My Gain regulator goes to 187“ the Danes pack a Powermetal reef after the other from the trick box. What makes this record - also for not Metal Fans - audible, is her immense Eingängigkeit. The Opener "The Mirror And The Ripper" is convincing by a brilliant stanza song line and smart rhythm changes. With the beginning of „Heaven of Nor Hell“ one is not able differently, than to think of AC / DC, until a suddenly oral accordion (!) starts. The voice of Poulsen has a big portion in the fact that I like this tape. Delightfully hard, without flourish with smart James Hetfield manner. This has what and burns itself animal in the auricle.

The tape sometimes jumps in the Rock'n unroll direction and it may also become sometimes "gegrowled", however, all together the Danes drive 13 tracks long on the same cutter. Now I suppose already quite strongly that the Neatly and musical Schmalspurigkeit demand on a continuing basis her tribute. "Beyond Hell/Above Heaven" is certainly no album that one will hear long or in ten years still with pleasure put out, therefore, there is for it light point deduction in the B mark. But for the moment the tape delivers there quite a consistent piece of music. This should function live very well!

Particularly for the rockers who deplore always that it nothing new gives to her music direction. Looks sometimes northwards, Denmark has there still what for You ready.

Result: Thick thing with big fun factor. Wide shoulders and big eggs are assumed.
