This album was life changing for me. Plain and simple. Honestly, it wasn't an album that I liked the first time I heard it. But when I came back to it almost two years later, it actually blew my mind. This is an album that basically became the soundtrack to my life. This is an album that I can easily listen to all the way through and not skip a single second. This is one of the best albums out there in my opinion. This also lead me to listen to the rest of Beach House's discography and they are now my favorite band and have been for a while.

Beach House's album "Bloom" really hits the spot for me. There is something vaguely familiar; a bit of eightie's synth like Berlin, the Motels, the Cure, and maybe even a bit of Siouxsie and the Banshees spread throughout and within the songs here. The album is very consistent, with hypnotizing vocals and lyrics melting into moments of sublime bliss. Once again, NPR's First Listen has allowed me to become helplessly addicted to an album, and Amazon is there to save the day with their wildly entertaining pricing volatility. If this album hits your price point sweet spot for new music to take a chance on, put on a good set of cans and let this one grow on you.
