Close To The Sun (Japanese Edition)by Place Vendome

Had much higher expectations for this album since it has good musicians like Michael Kiske, Dennis Ward and Gunter Werno. Kiske's voice can't reach many high notes and sounds weak like he can barely sing certain songs. There are a couple of good songs. The best one is the track "Light Before The Dark", which has all the ingredients that make it a good hard rock melodic song. They should have used this as a model to write other songs. The opener title track "Close To The Sun" is also good. The rest of the album sounds filler. Listen to Unisonic which is much better and has several of the same musicians.
