"Cry Tough" is Nils Lofgren's 2nd solo LP, originally released in 1976. It's a great LP, very similar to his excellent 1975 debut "Nils Lofgren". Nils was the leader of the Maryland/DC based band Grin, who relesed 4 LP's and 'discovered' by Neil Young. Nils ended up working with Neil on a variety of projects (guitar & piano)throughout the years. On "Cry Tough", here he just simply makes a great rock and roll record. "Can't Get Closer" and "Share A Little" are classic Lofgren songs, full of tasty guitar licks and hooks. "Mud In Your Eye" is a quirky little number and the title track "Cry Tough" gives an 'outlaw' kind of feel to it. All and all, this may be the 2nd best solo CD Nils released until "Wonderland". Buy it!!!
