Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros return with another album of catchy songs. At their best, their sound is that of a group folk band (think Cloud Cult) combined with catchy Beatles-esque melodies. By far the best songs on this album are tracks 1 "Better Days" and 3 "Two". In particular, the song "Two" showcases a great duet between frontman Alex Ebert and the smokey voice of his female counterpart Jade Castrinos-- much like their previous hit song "Home" on the 2009 Up From Below album. However, as you work your way through the album, each song gets progressively less memorable and the loose "live festival" sound begins to even feel unrehearsed. Overall, the first 4 tracks of this album are a solid 4 start rating, but weak tracks 5-12 earn this album only a 3 star rating.
