"Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall" is the first single released from Coldplay's album "Mylo Xyloto". Somehow I managed to not like this song when they started playing on the radio. But, especially having listened to it in the context of the whole album, I love "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall." I think that's such a wonderfully poetic title, I expected the song to have a melancholy sound but it doesn't (which is a little incongruous to me, but whatever). It is quite poppy and synthetic with a persistant and infectiously cheerful melody. The sections with guitars that sound like bagpipes are great as is the uptempo drumbeat. All in all nothing too novel for Coldplay but they're not treading old ground yet either. Five stars.
This is my absolute favorite coldplay song. I love the catchy beat, it is a very well done and nonrepetitive song. My favorite part is the instrumental fiddle part, I just love the way it flows with the song yet gives it a quirky, country twang. I would definitely recommend it, you won't be sorry you bought it! I could listen to it every day and still not get tired of it:)
