Far and away Elton John's best--he's done nothing to match, before or since. Ranging from hard rock ("Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting", "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding", "All The Girls Love Alice", and "Your Sister Can't Twist") to sensitive ballads ("Candle In The Wind", "Harmony"), Elton John does it all and well on this album. Although in my opinion the two "pop" songs on this album (title track and "Bennie and The Jets") were the weakest ones here, apparently a good segment of the buying public disagreed heartily and bought those songs by the score.

Sir Elton--do you have another "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" in you? We really want to know.....
