When I was a child I always imagines Extreme was a KISS alias. Of course, this is incorrect. But the album cover does feature a guy in semi-KISS makeup and the album includes a KISS Cover song… and excellent cover at that! The cover of “Strutter” includes parts to at least three different KISS songs. A little bit of “Shout it out Loud” is included along with “God of Thunder” and “Plaster Casters”. The live version of “Kid Ego” is ‘thunderous”! It’s one of the many rock gems that sounds incredible when played live.

The songs “No Respect” and “Hip Today” seem to flow well together. Both tunes seem to be about a band understanding as a unit the difference between longevity and being a “one hit wonder”! One could also apply this to any professions. “Don’t be preoccupied with the latest fashion” because “There’s always someone new”!

I take the time to review an “EP” because back in the day, bands like Extreme and KISS would put out “concept EP’s”. Many of the early KISS EP’s have never been reprinted. Even the Extreme EP’s are difficult to find. Digital is sometimes the best choice for a “collector”!
