Dream Theater's second release "Images and Words" was the album that created a new music category: progressive rock/metal. With this release, Dream Theater established themselves as leaders of this genre. The fresh and complex music created a huge wave of groups that would later emulate their style. All players are virtuosos in their own instrument, playing melodic and memorable melodies, at the same time complex themes with odd times and syncopation. The band plays excellent. Best tracks are "Pull Me Under", "Learning to Live", and "Metropolis". This album is a great listen, very enjoyable. If you like progressive rock, this is the album to start with.
