"Infinity" is the fourth studio album by Journey (first with Steve Perry) (comprised of Steve Perry on vocals, Neal Schon on guitar, Gregg Rolie on keyboards, Ross Valory on bass, and Aynsley Dunbar on drums), which was released on January 20, 1978. The album peaked at number 21 on Billboard 200 and has been certified 3x platinum in the United States. Journey released three singles including "Wheel In the Sky" (peaked at number 57 on Billboard Hot 100), "Anytime" (peaked at number 83 on Billboard Hot 100), and "Lights" (peaked at number 68 on Billboard Hot 100) in that order. "Infinity" has been rated four out of five stars by Allmusic.
Adding Steve Perry on vocals not only improved Journey, but took them to new heights in fame. The band did not chart any singles nor get any certifications on their previous three albums. Steve Perry's vocals are so great that he even sounds like a girl sometimes! Anyway, "Infinity" is a classic Journey album (most of them are of course) with its share of hits like "Lights" and "Wheel In the Sky", but has some underappreciated songs like "Patiently" and "Feeling That Way". Its a must-own album for not only Journey fans, but for fans of great classic rock music.
