Ixnay On The Hombre is a vastly underrated album when it comes to many discussions about Punk/Thrash/Hard Rock.
The Offspring were moving on slightly from their raw & agressive earlier offerings and more towards the "radio-friendly" sounds to be heard in Americana and subsequent albums.
Ixnay On The Hombre seemed to capture that perfect balance between the raw, dirty aggression and the mainstream trends of the time.
Killer riffs, superb sound mixing are all brought together by Dexter Holland's sublime vocals.
This album will have you rocking in no time and keep you there.
Many of the song subjects keep in line with The Offspring's "dysfucntional family" themes seen in many of their tracks. "Me & My Old Lady" immediately comes to mind in this regard and is one of the best tracks on the album.
To show that they still have that dark humour to their songwriting, "Don't Pick It Up" is included in the album.
For the fans of previous albums who are still looking for that fast-paced thrash, try "All I want". This song is amazing when you crank up the volume.
If you like amazing rock riffs and songwriting with a unique vocal attack, then Ixnay On The Hombre is just the album for you.
