The album starts out strong with hard rocking "The Grudge", an ongoing, building, powerful, and overall reminiscent song of their older albums that give us all what we have been craving for from Tool.
While it would certainly be hard to choose a favorite song on this album, I would have to say "Parabola" is up there. Tool combined their dramatic and overall awesome loud guitar and insane drumming skills with lyrics that showed clearly the band had grown beyond their hate and anger from earlier albums with "This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality. Embrace this moment. Remember. we are eternal. All this pain is an illusion." I have to say this was bold for them, but extremely successful.
Overall, through the years I would have to say this is my favorite Tool album, which would be surprising to other die-hard Tool fans. You have to admit, they grew up and they were able to successfully portray that without selling out. I have been listening it to years with activities from painting to skiing to weight lifting. Just download it! You will not be disappointed.
