P.O.D., which is also known as Payable On Death, known originally for its nu metal style, returns with the first release from their eighth studio recording, "Murdered Love". "Lost in Forever" reveals a return to their rap metal roots which made them popular between 1999 and 2001 with their releases of "The Fundamental Elements of Southtown" and "Satelite" respectively. Recently the band veered away from the rap metal and took a more alternative rock approach. "Lost in Forever" recaptures their strengths. It is ironic that "Murdered Love" is produced by Howard Benson. Howard Benson was the one who produced "Southtown" and "Satalite" for the band. The sound is familiar as are the themes. "Lost in Forever" is a melodic expression of their Christian faith and confidence in the better things to come. The song acknowledges the real life, everyday struggles of this existence, while pointing to something better which lies ahead. The song merits a 4 Star rating for the balance and beauty it brings to the listener's ears and heart. Another engaging single from the album is "Higher" which carries the same weight and impact. P.O.D. is a force to be reckoned with and will be around for years to come.
