This 1976 debut release of the Pat Metheny Group placed them solidly in the world of jazz. Their sound is different enough to be recognizable, yet doesn't alienate the straight ahead or contemporary jazz enthusiast. The group includes Pat Metheny (guitar), Lyle Mays (keyboards), Mark Egan (bass)& Danny Gottleib (drums). Pat had released a few previous solo CD's after his youthful beginning in the Gary Burton Quartet. But the Pat Metheny Group takes on a different twist, most notibly with the help keyboardist/co-composer Lyle Mays. This CD is just so enjoyable, it's a must for any jazz fan. Highly Recommended!
