From the word go the Pet Shop Boys had their very own sound which they never deviated from in any major way. That being said they always managed to surprise putting an unexpected slant on their style. Many examples of this can be found on this compilation from the Latin sing-along ‘Se a vida e (that’s the way life is)’ to the Dusty Springfield duet, ‘what have I don’t to do this’ and then to the cold yet beautiful ‘Jealousy.’ Also how could anyone forget their brave and successful interpretations of Elvis’ ‘Always on my mind’ and the Village People’s ‘Go West.’ Also on offer are classics such as ‘So hard,’ ‘It’s a sin,’ and ‘West End Girls’. The CD features two new songs in the dark and textured ‘Miracles’ and ‘Flamboyant’. Curiously ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ was left off the compilation, then again maybe that was for the best!
