R.E.O. Speedwagon, released in the fall of 1971, is the first LP released by the band of the same name from Champaign, Il. It features the great voice of Terry Luttrell and the scorching guitar of Gary Richrath. I was living in Denver at the time and I clearly remember this album created quite a stir. This was one of the party albums of the day. I hadn't heard it in years until recently and it still holds up in my opinion. Too bad Luttrell left the band shortly after and was replaced by Kevin Cronin. Tunes like "Sophisticated Lady" and "157 Riverside Avenue" are definitely classics.
