The Courteeners have an excellent mixture of fun, upbeat, enjoyable indie rock sound overlayed with interesting and deep lyrics. St Jude is no exception (rather more the prime example) of this rule. Some of the best songs on this album include "Bide Your Time", which has a catchy summer vibe overlayed with social; "Please Don't", a song which varies between a delicate slow state and a thumpy, aggressive drumming, opposing the lyrics; and finally, the catchy yet sad "Not Nineteen Forever", for which the music keeps the interesting idea of the song in your head. Although The Courteeners might not be remembered in twenty years time, I still think their music is a decent contribution to any indie or rock lover's music collection.
