Whilst "Girlfriend" was certainly very catchy, the album seems to be lacking the edge that Avril had in her earlier albums. There seems to be some fundamental change in the image Avril is trying to portray in this album, and whilst there is still a pretty strong punk-chic vibe, it seems to become more and more inclined towards the pop-rock side of things. Overall, decent enough for a listen or two, but does not stand up against her earlier successes. If you are a fan of Avril Lavigne's then give it a go and make a judgement for yourself, but certainly not one of my favorites.
