Cassadee Pope's Season 3 Collection is a testament to how good she is...even though these are cover songs. She does what a star does and makes these songs new and distinct. A few examples: Are You Happy Now is pure pop country infused with real heart and hurt. Stupid Boy is a beautiful soft performance with a gorgeous vocal and solo keyboard. It may be teen angst but it's got a universal feel that crosses generations. Over You is a song about loss that she makes so new and so heartfelt. It was one of the highlights of Season 3 of the Voice. It talks about the loss of her coach's (Blake Shelton) brother. It could've been cheap and tacky but one listens shuts that thought down. It may bring a tear.
Cassadee Pope sounds like a star singing other people's songs and she makes these and the other songs her own. Beautiful, sad and sometimes fun. Enjoy...a lot!!!
