If you're looking for the melodic death metal album to end all melodic death metal albums, look no further than Soilwork's massive double album "The Living Infinite". This beast of an album is without a doubt the pinnacle of Soilwork's discography thus far and will be a landmark release for 2013. From the blistering opening of "Spectrum of Eternity" which roars right out of the gate to the end of "Owls Predict, Oracles Stand Guard", Soilwork barely takes a breath to slow down. The guitars are virtuosic and the drums are positively insane throughout. What really makes the album though are Bjorn Strid's signature pitched screaming and his massively improved clean singing voice. I find it hard to imagine another metal album this year giving us all that Soilwork's "The Living Infinite" does over and over. It's an easy recommendation for fans of hard rock and metal.
