Insomnium has always been a very cool band. They have awesome melodic guitar riffs, poetic vocals, and an awesome edge. Their release, Above the Weeping World, fits all of those qualities. It is a very good album that I highly recommend.
The Gale: Starts out with pouring rain, leading into a piano part, and into an awesome guitar riff. This is a very good instrumental, and an awesome way to kick off the album. 20/10
Mortal Share: The best song on the album. Starts out with a killer guitar riff that goes into a harmonized guitar part. That builds up with the drums, and a fucking badass growl makes you want to stick with this song. You will not want to hit the pause button. 40/10
Drawn in Black: A progressive song that is full of influences. Although it is six minutes long, it does not bore at all. 20/10
Change of Heart: Also very progressive, and very entertaining. Such a beautiful song. 20/10
The Killjoy: A little different by starting out as pop rock, going into killer and catchy riffs. You may headbang to it, or you may not. 15/10
Deviod of Caring: Your standard melodic death metal song. Sounds similar to The Big Four of Melodic Death Metal. 10/10
In the Grooves of Death: Like above, your standard melodic death metal song. Sounds similar to The Big Four of Melodic Death Metal. Also includes acoustic passages that go into killer melodic riffs. Great song. 15/10
