Cast's debut album 'All change' was released in 1995, a period when Britpop ruled the airwaves; and what better way to kick-off than with the bright and lively "Alright." It's upbeat with its high tempo, energy and positive lyrics.

All change is definitely a grower; it may take a few listens to fully appreciate it but there isn't a single weak track on it. "Promised Land," "Sandstorm" and "Finetime" provide further examples of Cast's ability to pull off songs that will lift the listener's mood.

Conversely, they demonstrate through the more melancholic "Four Walls" and "Walkaway," that they aren't just about pumping out positive chords and hoping people jump on the bandwagon. Instead, these tracks reveal an otherwise unseen depth to their music, which is just as necessary.

All Change closes with "Two of a Kind," which, keeping with the trend of albums of that era, is best described as provided a 'big finish' and rounds things up nicely.

A great Britpop album from John Power's post-La's band Cast.
