Djent (nearly) at its best.

If you want a mastercless in musicianship, songwriting and fun tunes, look no futher. This progressive-metal album from Periphery is a monster of all those things and more.

The singer is finally able to unleash his own talent and lyrics to the max, having sung the previous vocalists' words on their debut. His talent is immense, and his range is vast.

Misha conducts the guitars with a huge array of talent. Standing aside from this band, he is a huge modern influence and exceptionally talented and this comes through on this album. Rangarok, Make Total Destroy, Erised and Epoch all display the band's charisma and charm, combining talent with a storyteller-like ability to captivate the listener.

This album mixes many 'genres' and styles... expect blast beats, punk thrash, djent, Devin-style wall of noise, samples, breaks, and some of the best guitar work in the Djent arena.

Periphery have upped their game in every way imaginable in this stellar follow-up to their self-titled debut 2 years ago. The songwriting is more dynamic and varied, and more than anything the live drums and massive growth in vocalist Spencer Sotelo's singing have created the best metal album of the year. "Have A Blast", "Scarlet", and "Ragnarok" stand head and shoulders above anything the band has written before, and the rest of the album is at least as good as anything else that has been released this entire year. If you like music at all, Periphery II is the best purchase you can make this year. I have listened to it by far more than any other album. It's perfect.
