First album without founding member Timo Tolkki. How does a group continue without any of the original members? Polaris is an album where all muscians are non founding members. They try to repeat the Tolkki formula in some songs but it doesn't work with him. In other songs they try their own songs which sound different but with none of the harmonies or melodies that Stratovarius is known for. Just a couple of songs that are ok: "Forever Is Today" and "Deep Unknown". Fortunately the next album "Elysium"would be much different and much more enjoyable.
