Shrek 2 is an awesome and incredibly corny movie, so it really is no surprise that this is its soundtrack. And album with "Funkytown", "Livin' La Vida Loca", and "Accidentally in Love" has to be extremely cliche, in a way. Therefore, it's tough for the album's arranger to ensure that it's still an enjoyable album for anyone who isn't 8 years old or still stuck in the 1980s. This soundtrack pulls it off, somehow, though. Sure, you want to sing along with basically every track, but it's a good thing here, and it doesn't become one of those albums that irritates you after 3 plays. Instead, it's a fun, lovable album, much like the green character the movie is based on.
