"Solid Silver" is Quicksilver Messenger Service's 1975 release. It's a 'reunion' LP of sorts and it's quite a solid effort! The album starts with Gary Duncan's upbeat "Gypsy Lights", with a great harmony vocal from the incredible Kathi McDonald. John Cippolina's 's "Heebie Jeebies" is a fun track. Dino Valente's "Cowboy On The Run" is a really nice 'California vibe' track. Bassist David Freiberg and Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter turn in "I Heard You Singing" which had Robert and David had done on Hunter's first solo album: "Tales Of The Great Rum Runners". The other strong song on here is Din Valenti's instrumental "Witches Moon". A lot of old Quicksilver Messenger Service fans from the 1960's may not like this record because it was more geared for radio airplay. For me, it's a CD that stands the test of time. Buy it!!
