There are certainly more comprehensive collections of the Star Wars music, but for most of us, this is what we're looking for. It has the iconic Star Wars Theme, the Imperial March, and selections from some of the big moments of the trilogy. It's a little heavy on Return Of The Jedi, but that is by no means a bad thing, it had lots of great musical moments.
Getting right to the point, John Williams is just the absolute master at creating music that captures the emotions of a moment, and Star Wars was his magnum opus. It can be tough to make truly memorable music with all the images and sound effects that go along with the movie, and without the use of lyrics. But Williams just does it, time and time again. See his work in Indiana Jones and Superman...for most, these would be the top of their career, and these are incredible works, but for a single album the greatest movie music ever created, this is what you need. If you are at all a fan of the movies, you won't even need to look at the track names, just listen and you'll be able to imagine the exact scene the music was taken from. Fans of the films, or just of great, emotion-provoking music in general, should all have this in their collection.
