W.A.R. (We Are Renegades)by Pharoahe Monch

Pharoahe Monch has always been known for his lyrical prowess and "W.A.R. (We Are Renegades) is another perfect example of this. This album, while not being a concept album had the feel of one. With the intro with Idris Elba and the "We are renegades" catch phrase/reference the album felt like it had a "rebellion" theme through out it which I thought worked brilliantly. Pharoahe Monch lyrical ability kicks off with "Calculated Amalgamation", with brilliantly crafted lines, . "Evolve" with it's choir supported beat and razor sharp lyrics carried on the vibe. And to be honest, the middle of the album really carried on from there. "Hitman" and "Assassins" stood out to me and "Still Standing" was the perfect way to cap off the album. But that's not to the say the rest of the album wasn't consistently brilliant. This is definitely one to add to your collection!
