A few decades ago Mr Bowie created his alter-ego Ziggy Stardust, a bi-sexual glam rocker from out of space. Then after gathering huge support he unexpectadly decided to call it quits. This is a repackaged version of Ziggy Stardusts final show.
The music itself is as awesome as ever. The guitar solo on ‘Moonage Day Dream’ is nothing short of breath taking. The version of ‘Space oddity’ is rather chilling, ‘My death’ is simple yet powerful, ending with Bowie saying "Ladies & Gentlemen this is the part of the show we call the interval."
The release includes a few previously unavailable extras such as the introductions to the concert, Bowies chatter between songs and the unedited version of his famous farewell speech. A further bonus can be be found in the inlay card with a fold out poster on the one side and a fanzine booklet on the other. All of which add to the value of this release for any major fan of Ziggy Stardust.
While this isn’t Bowiers greatest release it is nevertheless an interesting time capsule style record. There are enough extras to make this worthwhile for any fan of Bowies work.
