I think what I like about this album is that it is a very distinct mixture the influences that make it up. To me this manages to sound like it is from the 70s, 90's and ealry 2000s all at the same time. It bring in influences of soul, dance, alternative rock, and house music. And it blends them al together so seamlessly.

I also think that the vocals on this project really match the instrumentation perfectly. The accent along with the melodies really makes all of these sounds come together. It's almost as if without the vocals, there isn't anything else to tie the ideas together. And that's beautiful because it shows that band is still in touch with its minimalist roots. Each part is 100% nessasary otherwise the music will not translate. And I actually like the idea of music being so fragile and so simple at the same time.

I also noticed that there is a much greater emphasis on keyboard parts on this album. The use of the keyboards and synths is very tasteful and delicate. But they really take center stage on the instrumentals on this album. And as a result this album feels more danceable than their previous work. I think thier previous album was amazing as well just for diffrent reasons. This album is one that gets better with more listens and it really does acknowledge it's influences without being unoriginal. This album sounds like dance music, lounge music, easy listening, and alternative rock all at once. I guess the best way to describe this album woukd be flavorful.
