Train of Thoughtby Dream Theater

This is by far one of my favorite albums by Dream Theater. To me this album and Octavarium go hand in hand with how a perfect album is completed by one epic song to round it off. Dream Theater boasts it's technical proficiency and compositional complexities within the songs of Train of Thought while still keeping the music heavy and fun enough to demand fist pumping. In the Name of God is one song that every Dream Theater fan must hear and it has a guitar solo in it that shows John Petrucci is not your typical Guitarist. In general this album shows that Dream Theater is more than your typical Progressive-metal band. Fans from King Crimson, to Pink Floyde, to Metallica, to Beethoven should all explore the musical masterpieces of Dream Theater and Train of Thought is a good album to start doing just that.
