A fantastic, upbeat pop classic. The Go-Betweens capture the sound of British new-wave and alternative (think Echo and the Bunnymen), but, especially here, are not afraid to let go of the angst that marks so much of that genre. This does not make their work sentimental, though it is unapologetically sincere. This album is full of stand-alone hits, but as a whole, it is a refreshing collection from a great Austrailian band.
