This guy has a beautiful voice to lift up God. In the Bible, it says that everything we do should be for glory of the Lord. For the younger generation, it is easy to get mixed up in the personal success where everything is about "me." I love that Colton sings about the One who should be praised. All fingers are pointed to God and not to Colton. It takes tremendous courage given from the Holy Spirit to be able to withstand pressures like American Idol, public opinion, and peer pressure. It would be so easy for him to go against the Spirit, but he chose not to. What a gift he has been given!

When I first heard of Colton Dixon it was through this website when the album was first released. I think it's amazing that Colton sings about praising our God when the prevailing idea in society is that young people need to find and become right with themselves and their own ambitions and desires. I also think it's great that he's become as recognized as he has through American Idol. "You Are," "Never Gone," "Love Has Come for Me," and "This is Who I Am" are my favorites on the album although it was a hard decision. It is always inspiring to me to hear younger men and women singing in this genre because it's so often thought of as "puritanical" or "overboard." I think the music is beautiful with an even more beautiful message to send to people young and old. Colton and other young Christian artists are the kind of role models my generation should see in the spotlight, not the far from moral Hollywood scene we unfortunately witness today. This album is empowering for me and keeps my mind on the important thing in life - my relationship with our God and His Son. I feel fortunate to have music like Colton's that I can listen to to escape the cacophony of irrelevant voices vying for my attention at any given moment. Praise our God and thank Him for music as a form of media by which His word can be spread throughout the world.
