In 1973, James Gang's "Bang" LP began a new, exciting chapter of the band. After the departures of guitarists Joe Walsh and then Domenic Troiano, singer Roy Kenner, bassist Dale Peters and drummer Jim Fox recruits super talented guitarist/songwriter Tommy Bolin. Word has it that Joe Walsh recommended Bolin when he laft the band, before the band even hired Troiano. The results here are stunning. Bolin's songwriting and energy 'kick started' the group with rockers like "Standing In The Rain" and "It Must Be Love". "Alexis" (which features Bolin on his very 1st lead vocal recording) is perhaps the best track here. The song starts out acoustically and then whips into an all-out jam featuring Bolin's echoplex. A must have CD for any 1970's rock fans out there. Buy it!!
