Tracks
This is the second album from Bath’s duo. Once again Alison Goldfrapp’s beautiful voice mixes well with Will Gregory’s synthesised sound scapes to create some great pieces of music.
This is quite a mixed bag from Goldfrapp. There are some poppy upbeat tracks such as ‘Crystalline Green’ and ‘Train’ that will quickly get you nodding along. Then there are the chilled out mellow pieces such as the title track, ‘hairy trees’ and ‘Forever.’ ‘Deep honey’ is a particular highlight, which sees Alison Goldfrapp using a breathy style of vocals towards the end. Finally there are the heavy, fast paces dance tracks such as ‘tiptoe,’ ‘trust’ and ‘strict machine.’ The album closes with the trip hop orientated ‘slippage’, which consists of Alison going ‘la la la’ without actually saying anything.
