I admittedly lost touch with Depeche Mode in the past few years with me missing a couple of their last releases because after Violator, I was disappointed in their releases that followed. I decided on a whim to check out Delta Machine to see what was going on with them, so I bought the deluxe edition. It's kind of odd that the first disc which is the regular release, and the 2nd disc has 3 songs on the album and the rest are b sides. What's even more odd is that I like the 2nd disc a lot more than the first disc. Don't get me wrong, the regular release has some good songs on it, but a lot of the tempos/drum machines are off-tempo and disjointed, leaving you struggling to find the rhythm of the songs. The songs have hooks and are decent, but there are some filler songs in there. The 2nd disc is catchier and seems to be more in the style of Violator and earlier works. Why they sent most of those songs to the b-side pile, I have no clue. Some are much better than the filler songs on the original release. But anyways, it's a solid album, and better than releases like Exciter and Songs of Faith and Devotion. It's worth buying.
