"Drum & Bass Arena: Anthology" is one of multiple compilation albums put together by the people over at Drum & Bass Arena. It's a pretty good compilation containing quite a few of the biggest Drum & Bass tracks. Obviously, the compilation is mostly meant to be enjoyed by people who are new to the genre and want to hear some of the best tracks around. In that sense, the album succeeds.
These are not the original tracks as they were created or mixed by their respective artists, it is important to keep in mind. The songs are meant to be listened to in order, as they are mixed together. The quality of the crossfading isn't always the greatest, but it gets the job done. Make sure you switch your settings as to allow your music player of choice to seamlessly transition between these tracks, or I reckon your listening experience will be greatly diminished.
"Drum & Bass Arena: Anthology" is a good choice if you're looking for a decent mix of many of drum & bass' biggest tracks to date or want to get introduced to the genre. If you are already into the scene, however, and know what the various artist are all about, you're probably better off getting artist-specific releases.

In A nutshell, great compilation. All the major Drum & Bass tracks since the inception of the genre. Comprehensive introduction to the genre if you missed it the first time around. If you find a track you like, its easier to explore more by that artist.
This compilation is also a great value in the fact that if you purchased the tracks on the original vinyl, this would set you back over $600.
The thing to be the most aware of is that this CD is 'mixed'. That is, the tracks flow from one to the next like a DJ set. This can be good or bad depending on your listening preferences. If you burn this to CD, check your settings so that there is no gap between tracks. Also, if you listen on various players, the gaps could be an issue!
So, if you listen to this, make sure you play it through a gapless player like Aqualung or put the tracks together (in Audacity) into one long track to listen to this properly.
If you are a DJ looking to build your Drum & Bass collection, this is not the best choice. The nessecary intros and outros to mix them on your own are not here. Bathroom Break CD, perhaps, but not a mix source.
