Here is an album that could very well be one of the classics of the 70s! Angel Olson, young singer-songwriter from Chicago (but native of Missouri)in fact has the class, the emotional significance, the dramatic pathos of the the most accredited performers in those years. Its beautiful and tormented voice is the absolute master of the scene, with a really stripped-down instrumental support, while goes back in time to an American folk origins. This is her debut as a full-length, while in 2011 it was published a surprising EP, Strange Cacti. At the same time, she was part of the Cairo Gang, who often has been the support to Bonnie "Prince" Billy. Half Way Home is an album certainly intended to impress, but it is not a product that you will hear on the radio: the target is not to offer listens carefree and relaxing, and its intensity is thick and dense as amber, which hides inside ancestral and indecipherable secrets.
