If a ghost could sing beach and garage rock tunes, I think it might sound a little like this album. And I mean that in a good way. Angel Olsen has a haunting voice that is almost like a more dramatic reincarnation Lana Del Ray. Now her songwriting style tends to be a little more energetic (as heard in tracks like "shut up kiss me") which I think makes her accessible in her own right. Angel Olsen has an incredible vocal range and a chilling vibrato. I love this because it is basically a new and interesting take on a style of music that has been around for a long time but you have never heard it quite like this I promise.
The intro track "intern" is brilliant as the intro but also as a stand alone song and probably my favorite track from the album. I also really like the track "sister" because it has a lot of those haunting qualities I mentioned earlier. This is all around Angel Olsen best album so far and it's def worth a listen.
