They Might Be Giants have been long known for their fun and playful approach to music (albiet sometimes laced with dark humour and satire). Therefore, branching out into children's music seemed like quite a good fit for the two Johns. This was the band's second children's album, and the first of their "Here comes" trilogy.

CS Lewis was quoted as saying "A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest.” This may well be apt for children's music as well, which is perhaps a key way in which They Might Be Giants stand well out of the crowd of other artists, as they employ their unique twist on indie rock, along with their clever and sharp witted words in producing this album, all while being educational and fun!

'The alphabet of nations' gives children a quick list of 24 counties (no counties start with W or X so they came up with the fictitious "West Xylopohne". 'E eats everything' provides a new and clever way of working through the alphebet. Meanwhile 'Pictures of pandas painting' is simply a heap of fun with words!

Once you've learnt that 'C Is for Conifers' and 'D is for drums' they then work through the alpebet backways in 'ZYX'.

Bonus material includes the lively dance-a-long 'Clap your hands' and the sweet natures theme tune to the children's show Higgleytown Heros.

This album really has it all. It is great for young children learning about words, with the teachings cleverly crafted into catchy tunes, at the same time the music has all the TMBG charm for long time fans to get into.

It is quite simply musical genius!
