Also by Clifford T. Ward
This is an excellent album from an *incredibly* talented English songwriter. There are few soft ballads as good as "Gaye" - which sounds as good toiday as it ever did. There are few songwriters who could use the word "Wherewithal" in a song, never mind as the song title! The song, for me, sums up the feelings of every shy teenage boy who has romantic feelings for a teenage girl:
"If I hadn't inhibitions enough to cope with
Now you come along beautiful and leave me hoping..."
And there is plently of fun on this album. For example, the title track "Home Thoughts from Abroad", starts with:
"I could be a millionaire...if I had the money"!
How many of us have said that and some point?
I can't do this album justice with simple text. You need to *hear* it, to appreciate all the nuances and innuendo that Clifford T Ward brings to the music. It's a 5-star almbum. Simple as that.
