Steve Wariner has been a fixture in the country music scene since his breakthrough as a teenage bassist for singer Dottie West. Signed to RCA Records for a 2 LP deal by Chet Atkins, Wariner started a solo career with his debut LP "Steve Wariner" in 1982.
Fast forward to 1988, Steve releases "I Should Be With You" (his 4th LP for MCA Records) This LP is full of great songs, wonderful arrangements & production. "Baby I'm Yours" was the 1st single (written by Wariner & Texan Guy Clark) and it's a corker! The title track (solely written by Wariner) was the 2nd single and a simply beautiful song written about life on the road. Jimmy Webb's "More Than Enough" is done wonderfully by Wariner.
Most of Steve's recorded output has been of the highest quality throughout his long career. This LP stands up as one of his best. The only drawback is it's 1980's production (a real drummer using drum samples) and new age synths in the background. Outside of that, a great record. Buy it!
