Suffocation hasn't skipped a beat since the Human Waste EP. These guys are still going strong and every bit as brutal as they have been. This is their seventh full album release and it is straight forward brutal, technical death metal which is what these guys are known for. We do hear a slight switch to a more modern, technical death metal sound with Pinnacle of Bedlam, but the original Suffocation sound is still very present. These guys always play fast and the guitars sound really crunchy, it's all here. The opening track,Cycles of Suffering sets the fast pace for what is the rest of this album. My Demise is another excellent track that is just very technical, fast, and heavy. I'm telling you that these guys invented brutal death metal. Rapture of Revocation is technically the closing track (there's a re-recorded version of Beginning of Sorrow at the end) and it just left me wanting to hear more. Don't hesitate, buy this album, you won't regret it.
