Rated R is obviously an album that Rhianna felt she need to complete to be able to move on with her life after going through some difficult times, its a great album altho it very dark, and a little depressing. It nice to see that Rhianna has turned it about and used all that bad energy into a proper good cd of music.

The album was at #4 in the American Billboard 200 chart, with the sales of 181,000 copies during the first week after release. It was the highest-selling debut of Rihanna in America. In general Rated R got positive reviews from the majority of music critics.
