Frank Zappa is one of my favorite musicians due to his sarcastic sense of humor which he combines with some of the greatest musicians in the business. "...Drowning Witch" is a perfect example. The title track is one of my favorite Zappa tunes as it combines a silly story with beautiful work on the marimba. Like his other albums, he jumps from one musical style to another, with "Teenage Prostitute" providing almost a thrash/metal feel, only with far more sophisticated musicianship. In fact, this album shows why Zappa is often a favorite of both jazz and classical musicians, as the skill and creativity of his songs both entertain and inspire. Check out all his albums to hear some of the best playing you'll find anywhere.
